Our daughter Sorcha’s hobby is photography. She was taking shots of lots of Ladybirds this day when one landed right on the lens. I just loved the way there was only a hit of red against that azure blue, you still knew exactly what creature it was. So, I painted it. To me this painting subtlety screams summer.
